Profile:
The Verband Österreichischer Ziegelwerke (Austrian Brickworks Association) is a voluntary national lobby for the Austrian brick industry. The brick is one of the oldest and most widely proven building materials and has a unique combination of favorable properties. The goal of the VÖZ is to work through lobbying and marketing to make the advantages of building with brick known to all potential customers, be they end users such as people building their own single-family homes or building professionals such as architects or builders.

Reference projects:
In recent months the VÖZ has initiated a series of future-oriented model buildings with a number of major developers (GEBÖS in Vienna, GWS in Graz, WAG and GIWOG in Linz, WE in Telfs). All of these residential buildings will be constructed to meet the passive standard of <15 kWh/m2a heating energy use and will have double masonry (cavity) exterior walls with core insulation. All of these buildings will be evaluated using the "ecobuilding" TQ certification system.
