Activities
Since 1993 the 'Gemeinschaft Dämmstoff Industrie - GDI' (Association of Insulation Manufacturers) has been not only the speaker for the Austrian insulation industry, but also a product-independent information platform for energy-efficient construction and revitalization. Our goal is to reduce residential buildings' energy use with an improvement in efficiency of a factor of 10. Low-energy and passive-house standards as well as an official energy certificate should be established in Austria. Together with experts and institutions, we document and promote the positive effects that improved energy efficiency made possible by insulation have for business, the national economy, and ecology. Moreover, we support initiatives in this field in all ways possible to us. Expenditures for insulation measures are not only very profitable and always ecologically sensible, they also integrate ecological and economic interests in an ideal fashion. Our philosophy is to develop and realize win-win strategies - for the environment, for the economy, and last but not least for the human being.
