Profile:
Established in 1988, the IFZ works on the issues of socially and environmentally compatible technology design. The IFZ is a department of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies of Austrian Universities (iff).
Our work focuses on the analysis of the social and organizational contexts of energy use, as well as on the development of energy policy recommendations. Working together with stakeholders such as municipalities, schools, electricity providers, architects, etc., we conceptualize, evaluate and act as consultants for energy-related activities and programs. Current emphases in our work are ecological building renovation, optimization of planning processes, and transient building simulation.
